“When I think about books I touch my shelf” …
You can call that true confessions of a bookish kind. I should also tell you that I’m wearing a T-Shirt emblazoned with those words as I sit here and type this. And that I’m not planning on changing before I leave my house. For the bookstore. With my brother’s girlfriend. That’s not awkward, right?
Anyway, the word house brings to mind the word home … which leads me to think about this blog, my new casa—albeit a virtual one. I hope that you’ve found me to be a hospitable host, as I’ve found you to be most well-mannered guests.
To thank you, I’d like to offer a door prize of sorts.
You see, my mother bought me this T-Shirt. (The story just gets better and better, right?) But, in her haste to order, she accidentally double-clicked somewhere along the line. And voila! When the package arrived, there was an extra. Rather than sending it back, I decided it might be nice to share.
So … back to that door prize.
In order to claim your virtual ticket for entry, you need only do the following three things:
- Follow this blog (if you haven’t already)
- “Like” my John B. Valeri / Hartford Books Examiner Facebook page (again, if you haven’t already)
- Leave a comment below
If you complete each task on or before tomorrow evening—Sunday, July 24th, 2016—at 11:59 PM EST, I’ll place that virtual ticket in a virtual hat and select one entry at random. The winner will receive his or her very own “When I think about books I touch my shelf” T-Shirt. (For the detail-oriented: the size is adult large and the color is black.)
Easy peasy, right?
And now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got books to fondle …
What a neat T ! I’d love it.

Is there an option to win the one you’ve been wearing, because you are a rock star in the book world. “OMG, John wore this, I’ll never wash it!!!!” 😉
